When I saw the line of cars outside, I got excited because I thought they were for the restaurant. After walking in there were 2 tables with patrons. I took a chance and ordered my food thinking how bad it could be. What a disappointment! New Orleans is known for two things in the food world Gumbo and oversized portions of whatever it is you order. The only thing oversized here was my food cost. The person who took my ordered charged me for a shrimp dish when I told them I was allergic to shell fish. And I never knew you could make Cesar salad with iceberg lettuce. My ranch dressing taste like a store brand and the fettuccini didn't even taste as good as the one I make at home. I've only given a 1 star rating one other time to a place, but this one I won't soon forget.

I would love to give them a 5 star rating, but the ambience is a little on the eh side. HOWEVER, the food was great! I suggest the crab balls, that is a meal by itself. I ordered the seafood fajitas for $16.99 and was shocked by all the meat...beef, chicken, shrimp, red fish and shrimp brochette. This place is worth going to and has the potential to grow...we'll be going back for sure.

First time there. The food was cooked perfect. Price is very good. Kirsten was a great waitress. We will definitely be going back. I pastor a church and will tell my congregation about the discount when you bring a church bulletin.

Good food. Not a big fan of the po-boys, but the fried items and soups are pretty good. Service is abysmal, highly recommend getting food to go.

I was there for lunch. I ordered fried red fish, shrimp and oysters with fried okra and dirty rice on the side. It tasted well. The price range is very affordable too. Our waiter was nice. I recommend this place.

Man oh man! I just ordered takeout from these guys!! It was so delicious!!! The shrimp tasted fresh, and did not have that iodine taste to them. Oysters: soooooo good!!! The okra tastes like they actually cut them up and batter them. They do not taste frozen at all! Great food!

Awesome food, I had fried pickles as an app, and the blackened red fish as my meal. Fantastic customer service. I believe my servers name was Michael ,he introduced himself at the beginning but I do not recall seeing a name tag. He was very attentive and kept a smile and even joked around in a respectful way. It looked like all the other servers and manager were having fun with each other, it made the atmosphere so much more then just your basic restaurant with basic service. Kudos to the cooks and are server. We will for sure be coming back and telling others about this newly discovered place. Keep it up guys.

The portions of the entrees are large so you get your money’s worth! However, some of our food was either undercooked or not seasoned at all. The center of our hush puppies were still frozen and my green beans were a bit crunchy with no seasoning. The catfish was good though. The sweet tea was not sweet and had an odd taste to it. The oysters were delicious but a bit pricey at $7.99 for 6 because I didn’t need the oyster meal with 2 sides. I asked if they offered a military discount and I was told yes but that they couldn’t honor it because their manager just left? Odd. Overall, a subpar experience.

Great seafood place in historic downtown La Porte. The seafood soup and crazy Cajun are to die for and their fried seafood is amazing.

Chicken and sausage gumbo was very good! The Crawfish Etoufee, fried shrimp and catfish were all good but could have done with a bit more spice. The Red beans and rice weren't spicy at all. Prices are Great!

I’ve had 3 fantastic meals here the last few months. Service has been good and prices reasonable. And of course the food tasted good too!

Thought I'd be able to finish plate. Was too filling. Them stuffed shrimp and crab ball was amazing. Free refills nice staff. Better than a chain location. Stopped by twice while I was at La Porte tx. Be back.

The gumbo was good, then I had boiled shrimp. They brought it out with a bug on my plate. When I showed it to the manager he didn’t even apologize. He said sometimes bugs come with the bag of shrimp. I thought the least he should do was remove that from the bill since I didn’t eat any of the meal. If I could give them negative number ratings, I would.

Cold broccoli and very little of it for two sides. Tiny salmon ate in 3 bites. I didn’t eat the broccoli. All for $15. I have a picture. Waitress offered discount. But I refused.

Large portions and decent price but the pasta and gumbo is bland. Every time I've gone I've got something different that was bland

Good food at a great price...

Very friendly. Peach tea was awsome. Jambalaya over linguini loaded with shrimp and mushrooms. Definitely worth a return visit.

My family enjoyed eating here. There was a surprisingly decent kids menu. The entire menu was very reasonably priced. I had a shrimp platter and it was well portioned. My husband had crawfish etouffee and he was still hungry and ate some of my platter. All the food was good though. The kids had grilled cheese, mac and cheese, and corn dogs. Nothing fancy but again, fairly priced.The restaurant has a mom and pop feel. It was decorated for Mardi gras when we were there. Which means they put masks and beads over the items that were already hanging on the wall. I like it though. I would rather support a locally owned business than a large chain of restaurants.

Prices have increased but still good food at a decent price+they have new menus

Some of the best prepared seafood with generous portions I've ever had. A small hole in the wall in old downtown LaPorte, Texas. I had Alfredo Lafayette that had a bunch of mushroom, shrimp, and sausage; enough for two (I had to get a takeout). My wife had fried green tomatoes with a crab meat covering. Superior food, attentive waitress, and very clean atmosphere. Really should go out of your way to get to this gem.

We had a shrimp po boy, gumbo, boiled shrimp and a sampler platter and everything was delicious.

My fried seafood platter came out and there was a metal shaving sitting on top of a fish filet. Looked like it was from a big scrubbing pad. Pulled it off and handed it to the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen.

I ordered fried Catfish with fried okra with red beans and rice and fried pickles to go. It was good!

You can bet we’ll be back next week too! Amazing food, exquisite flavors, absolutely the best gumbo I have every eaten. The fried shrimp tacos on corn tortilla were fabulous no doubt. We even bought the largest container of gumbo they had to take home with us for later. It was packed with shrimp and crawfish tails. So good! Gotta go back soon. It’s on our regular rotation now.
